J. Stewart
Artist Jamie Stewart grew up in a rural environment and expresses his passion for the unique landscapes of Fiordland and the Western Southland and Central Otago in his paintings. These landscapes are an inexhaustible source of inspiration, so it is not surprising that the artist has been revisiting these motifs for years.
He currently enjoys capturing the life of shepherds on large canvases.
Jamie works with oil on canvas, applying numerous glazes of colour to achieve the desired effect. Sometimes he uses up to 40 layers to create a scene with a rich depth of colour.
As the artist describes:
"Landscapes are my passion, and I am fascinated by the beauty of the land and its spiritual essence, which I try to capture."
